Colonic Hydrotherapy

“A strong stomach and a good set of bowels are more important to human happiness than a large amount of brains.”

The colon, or large intestine, is the last part of the digestive tract. It is approximately 5 feet (1½ metres) long and 2½ inches in diameter. Its major functions are to eliminate waste and to conserve water. Also, there are bacteria living in the colon that synthesise valuable nutrients such as vitamin D and some of the vitamin B complex.

Colonic Hydrotherapy (or Colonic Irrigation as it used to be known) is an internal bath that helps cleanse the colon of gas and accumulated faecal matter.  Such techniques were first recorded in 1500BC and have been used in natural medicine since that time.

Using sterilised equipment, filtered water is gently introduced into the rectum which progressively softens and expels faecal matter and compacted deposits.  The whole process takes about 45 minutes and the modesty of the client is preserved to the utmost.

Most people quickly experience enhanced mental clarity after colonic hydrotherapy. With their toxic load diminished and elimination improved, a greater feeling of well-being and lightness is felt. Obvious relief is obtained from bloating, constipation and skin problems. In the longer term, bowel disease risk is also diminished and nutrients are better absorbed leading to improved all-round health.

By improving elimination the response to dietary, herbal, manipulative and other therapies is markedly improved.
